About

Meet Selina

Selina began her public service career in family law, providing free legal services to our community’s most vulnerable children and families as an attorney for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. Since then, Selina has continued to serve in other essential roles, including as part of the El Paso County Attorney's Office where she has successfully led two of the office’s largest units: the Protective Order Unit and the Child Protective Services Unit.

In these leadership roles, Selina has worked closely with the 65th District Family Court and its partners on initiatives that make our community safer and keep families strong. Together with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, they developed and implemented crucial firearm surrender protocols for protective order cases, enhancing the safety of our community. Selina also worked with the court and its partners to establish the first Indian Welfare Act (ICWA) Court in the State of Texas. This pioneering initiative ensures that Native American children and their families receive the support and services they need to preserve their family and cultural ties during Child Protective Services proceedings.
